The Role

Based in either the Perth or Inverness office, you will lead the delivery and development of forestry and woodland services in Central and North Scotland. As a Regional Manager, you will oversee a range of forestry management projects, ensuring high standards of service delivery while contributing to the financial success of the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business development, budgeting, and financial management
  • Line management and mentorship of colleagues
  • Long-term forest planning and woodland creation initiatives
  • Overseeing Forestry Grant Scheme applications and related work
  • Timber harvesting, marketing, restocking, and maintenance
  • Utilising GIS for forestry and woodland mapping
  • Ensuring compliance with forest and woodland certification standards
  • Conducting tree safety surveys and BS 5837 assessments
  • Supporting rewilding, carbon offsetting, and Woodland Carbon Code projects

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in leadership, setting clear objectives, managing performance, and fostering an inclusive and dynamic work environment.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in developing and delivering forestry projects, managing budgets, and mentoring teams. A strategic thinker, you will also possess excellent relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to business growth.

  • Strong financial and project management skills
  • Leadership and people management experience
  • Ability to drive business development and client engagement
  • Knowledge of forestry legislation, certification, and grant schemes
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and data management
