Our client is a UK leader in sustainable forestry and timber harvesting and offer sustainable woodland management services.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Forestry Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a skilled team of forestry professionals across South West Scotland. Your key duties will include:
- Overseeing the management of forests, properties, and contracts to ensure alignment with client objectives and adherence to silvicultural standards.
- Driving business development to identify new opportunities and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Championing nature-based solutions to contribute to Scotland's climate resilience efforts.
- Ensuring projects are completed to target, on time, and within budget.
What You Need:
Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced individual with the following qualifications:
- A background in the forestry or land-based sector, with strong knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS.
- Proven commercial acumen and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
- A degree or diploma in Forestry or a related land-based field.
- Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or a relevant professional body (desirable).
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualifications (e.g., Manager's CSCS card or SMSTS competency).
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
