The Role

As a Lead Engineer, you'll play a vital role in driving our engineering team to success. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leadership & Coordination: Lead, inspire, and motivate a team of multiskilled engineers, balancing hands-on work with strategic planning.
• Team Development: Conduct team meetings, personal development reviews (PDRs), and manage low-level disciplinary matters to foster a positive and productive team environment.
• Problem Solving: Ensure smooth production processes by troubleshooting and resolving issues swiftly, keeping our operations in line with company KPIs and production targets.
• Maintenance & Efficiency: Minimize machinery downtime through quick response to both reactive and predictive maintenance needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production, technical, and hygiene teams to address downtime and planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), optimizing both efficiency and quality.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Management Experience: Previous experience leading teams in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
• Hands-On Expertise: A strong background in multiskilled engineering, with the ability to balance 'on the tools' work with office-based responsibilities.
• Passion & Drive: A genuine enthusiasm for engineering and a knack for guiding and developing a team of skilled engineers.
• Location: The right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance to Newark.
