The Company
Our client is one of the most well-known and established property consultancies in the UK. They are looking to bring in a Senior Surveyor to join their Infrastructure team, based out of the Birmingham office.
The team is focused mainly on client advisory for land assembly and compensation on behalf of developer, acquiring authority and private landowner clients, alongside property access and acquisition services for public sector clients.
The Role
In this role you will be responsible for the negotiation of heads of terms, option agreements and voluntary agreements for land acquisition. You will develop and undertake new business/relationship opportunities and drive forward initiatives in the local area with a particular focus on Claimants/landowners. You will be responsible for Landowner and Stakeholder engagement and the negotiation of disturbance claims following works. You will gain consents for access across third party land for works and you will undertake Land and Property Valuation.
You will negotiate compensation claims arising from construction works and play an active role in the continuous development of efficient, 'best practice' internal systems and processes, optimising IT and other resources. You will provide management of surveyors working across the team and be responsible for mentoring and coaching junior members of the team through their professional development
The Successful Candidate
Ideally you will be RICS Qualified and an RICS Registered Valuer with extensive PQE experience in a general practice/infrastructure surveying role with a business development-orientated attitude with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. Compulsory Purchase experience desirable although this is not essential as we have excellent training available through our Infrastructures Academy. Rural surveying experience could be beneficial as aspects of our work cover rural portfolios, including commercial and residential assets. You must also be able to demonstrate you have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You are ambitious and keen to develop your career in line with the business and actively seek out continuous self-development, broadening your knowledge and experience. The ability to drive business initiatives forward and establish new whilst maintaining existing relationships is key. As is being a team player with strong interpersonal skills, a good sense of humour and the ability to communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients at all levels.
