Role Overview
We are seeking an Engineer to provide essential support across all factory areas. The role involves ensuring that breakdowns, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and improvement work are carried out to a high standard. Reporting directly to management, this is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a significant impact on our operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and take remedial action to ensure operational standards are met.
- Propose and implement equipment improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Dismantle and reassemble production equipment promptly and effectively.
- Document work through job reports and detailed breakdown reports.
- Manage inventory by accurately booking out parts from the stores.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Contribute to special projects and work in conjunction with contractors as required.
- Uphold hygiene and health & safety standards at all times.
- Conduct fabrication work and support the company's risk management strategy.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level or equivalent standard.
- Strong track record in electrical control systems, including PLCs, contactors, relays, and safety circuits.
- Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is essential.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining safe working practices.
