HR Manager | South London

I have a brand-new opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to join a business that are passionate about plants, nature, and providing exceptional customer experiences. With several locations across London and surrounding areas, they pride themselves on their knowledgeable staff, high-quality products, and commitment to sustainability.

What will a typical day look like as HR Manager?

As the HR Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the culture and success of one of their sites in South London but will expand to other sites in time. You will be responsible for all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. This is a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant and growing sector, supporting a team and wider business. There is a requirement to work on-site 5 days a week.

You will report directly into the Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director and Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing the staff and HR of the business through various day to day tasks including:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process, from job postings to interviews and selection. Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs and coordinate relevant programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • HR Administration: Oversee HR administrative functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and record-keeping.

Is this you?

  • CIPD Qualified with experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
