Electrical Engineer | Monday to Friday | Southall | £45,000 to £48,000

Company Overview: The company has just been acquired by a Global Business, and is making significant investments to enhance the Southall site. With investment for new lines and equipment upgrades and a £3 million project focusing on refrigeration and blast chillers, this is an exciting time to join our dynamic team.

What is the position? We are urgently seeking four Engineers. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our production capabilities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain FMCG production lines, including conveyors, bearings, packing lines, chain conveyors, pro seal units, metal detectors, and multi-pond depositors.
  • Operate and maintain ovens, tumblers, kettles, steam-based cooking equipment, and blast chillers.
  • Manage and ensure the efficient operation of nine stainless steel packing lines.
  • Handle automated sauce dispensers and ensure quality control for ready meals.
  • Participate in the installation of new lines and upgrading of equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, particularly on Sundays when the plant is not in operation.
  • Coordinate with a team of 16, including managers and planners, to ensure smooth production workflows.
  • Provide support and cover for the Senior Engineer during their absence.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of steam-based cooking systems and refrigeration units.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under high pressure.
  • Ability to work double shifts (6 AM - 2 PM and 2 PM - 10 PM), with overtime opportunities available on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Flexibility to work on Sundays with compensatory time off on Mondays or Tuesdays.
