Working Farm Manager
Lincolnshire
Competitive + accommodation
Want to jump out of the frying pan, into a nice frying pan?
This business doesn't recruit very often. They do well at looking after their staff. This rare opportunity might be the one for you, for the long term.
What's the job?
If you have worked as an Assistant Farm Manager or Farm Foreman on an arable operation, then you know what this job takes.
The farm is 4,000ac of combinable crops across Lincolnshire.
You will have day-to-day management and leadership of the arable team, going from a team of 4 to 8 in peak.
You'll be working closely with the owner of the business. He covers the buying and selling of fertilisers, seeds, machinery and produce, so you'll be working on the day-to-day with him to make sure everything is running as it should.
The business operates large grain driers, and this would fall into your remit.
It's a nice mix of office and hands-on work. You won't be unhappy about jumping on a tractor when needed. Most of your time, though, will be spent managing the team, working with the owner, and ensuring paperwork is well-maintained.
You'll work closely with the agronomist and maintain field records.
What do I need?
You'll be confident and skilled in varying aspects of growing combinable crops and be ready to take this new challenge on.
You might be a Working Farm Manager who fancies a change, or you might be a Farm Foreman/Assistant Manager who has been waiting for their next opportunity. Either way, we want to hear from you.
Ideally, you'll have your PA1 and PA2 secured. FACTS and BASIS would be great, but it's not essential.
