Technical Manager - Fresh Produce
Location: Lincolnshire
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance
Are you a skilled leader passionate about ensuring the highest standards in food safety and quality? We're looking for a Technical Manager to oversee the technical and compliance functions, ensuring operations meet top-tier standards for food safety, due diligence, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Technical & Quality Functions: Act as the primary contact for all technical and quality-related issues.
- Ensure Compliance: Measure technical compliance across the business, developing corrective action plans where needed.
- Supplier & Customer Communication: Manage technical communications with both UK and overseas suppliers, as well as customers.
- Risk & Incident Management: Implement a strong risk management and incident handling system.
- Audits & Certifications: Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with customer and third-party standards.
- HACCP & Quality Systems: Oversee HACCP implementation, process improvements, and statistical quality control.
Skills & Experience
- Proven Experience: Strong background in managing product quality, food safety, and compliance within the food/fresh produce sector.
- Retail Customer-Facing: Experience working with top retailers, ideally in the fresh produce or prepared food sectors.
- Project Management: Ability to lead projects and meet critical deadlines.
- Educational Background: Formal qualification in Food Science, Agronomy, or similar is preferred.
- Leadership: Excellent team management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
