Technical Area Sales Manager
Northern Home Counties | Professional Horticulture UK
What's in it for you?
This is an exciting opportunity to manage, develop, and grow sales of branded fertilizer, plant protection products, and growing media within a defined geographical area. You'll work closely with local distributor sales personnel and technical and marketing colleagues to ensure all sales and margin targets are achieved. You'll also have the chance to develop new product ideas and organise, monitor, and report on new product grower trials.
You will be responsible for
- Achieving budgeted/target sales of all product lines.
- Providing technical backup in the event of product complaints.
- Aiding in the forecast and budget process for products.
- Operating within expenditure budgets as allocated.
- Account and Dealer Management: working closely with Distributors and their sales teams.
- Maintaining close contact with end users to sell the full product range.
- Identifying and obtaining new business opportunities.
- Coordinating and running necessary trials for new products.
- Developing new technical ideas for new product development programs.
- Providing input to key technical and illustrative product articles for publications, websites, etc.
- Implementing, updating, and maintaining customer records as required on the CRM platform.
What you'll need
- Recognised horticultural qualification.
- BASIS and FACTS registered.
- At least two years' selling experience in the Horticultural or related markets or have experience in a technical growing role.
- Knowledge and understanding of Professional Horticulture market.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both in the written and spoken word.
- Team player and have a resolute desire to succeed.
