We are working with a leading company in the fresh produce sector, dedicated to sustainable farming and supplier excellence. They work with a wide range of suppliers and growers to ensure the highest quality products reach their customers.

The Role:
We are looking for a Supplier Technical Manager to join their dynamic team. You will be responsible for managing supplier compliance, carbon auditing, seed supply coordination, and the technical aspects of crop management. This includes working with both fresh and processing crops to meet quality and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage Carbon Auditing of suppliers.
  • Report on new potato varieties and trial variety plots.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with required accreditations for fresh and processing customers.
  • Manage 3rd party storage programs for both fresh and processing crops, including intake, quality control, temperature regimes, and sprout suppression.
  • Conduct quality sampling and reporting on crops (both ex-field and ex-store).
  • Support the Head of Farming in growing accreditation audits.
  • Source, manage, and coordinate seed supply for contracted fresh and processing suppliers.
  • Align technical management of suppliers and crops with the commercial needs of both fresh and processing sites.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing supplier compliance and crop quality (ideally potatoes but preferably within fresh produce or processing industries).
  • Knowledge of carbon auditing and sustainability practices.
  • Ability to manage 3rd party storage programs and ensure crop quality throughout the process.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong understanding of seed supply management and technical crop requirements.
  • Experience with accreditation processes and industry standards.
