An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a key member of the Rural Land Management and Consultancy team in St Albans. The team delivers a wide range of estate, farm, and property management services, as well as professional rural advice. This role will primarily focus on estate and property management, with opportunities to contribute to areas such as Natural Capital and Rural Diversification.
The Role
- Acting as the principal agent/lead asset manager for a key estate management client, working closely with senior colleagues.
- Overseeing day-to-day management of assets while progressing strategic objectives.
- Conducting secured lending and other professional valuations.
- Coordinating the work of various business lines involved in the instruction.
- Contributing to the growth of the business through proactive business development.
- Ensuring delivery of key client objectives and adherence to internal and client compliance standards.
- Managing and leading a high-performing team on the principal instruction.
- Seeking opportunities to leverage skills and expertise to develop new business opportunities for the team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience managing a significant portfolio of rural assets, including let farms, residential properties, and other rural holdings.
- Strong team leadership skills with the ability to manage, delegate, and supervise effectively.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to contribute to team budgeting and deploy resources effectively and profitably.
- An entrepreneurial attitude with a drive to enhance the team's profile and grow business performance.
Qualifications:
- Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree (or equivalent).
- MRICS qualified, preferably on the Rural pathway, with 3-5 years PQE.
- CAAV/SAAVA membership/qualification would be advantageous.
