Senior Agronomist | Norwich | £DOE
Are you a seasoned agronomist ready to lead, inspire, and shape the next generation of crop science in a high-tech, sustainable farming environment?
We're looking for a Senior Agronomist to join one of the UK's most exciting vertical farming businesses. With advanced growing systems, a relentless drive for innovation, and sustainability at the heart of everything they do, this is more than just a job-it's a chance to define the future of food production.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and mentoring the agronomy team-sharing your experience, shaping their development, and raising the technical bar.
- Taking ownership of crop strategies for baby leaf and herbs in a high-performance glasshouse environment.
- Designing, overseeing, and analysing crop trials to drive continuous improvement and commercial viability.
- Optimising crop nutrition, health, and yield using data-driven agronomic decisions.
- Engaging with suppliers and internal teams to implement cutting-edge growing practices.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in team leadership within a commercial agronomy or technical grower role-this isn't just about growing plants, it's about growing people.
- Strong scientific understanding, ideally backed by a relevant degree or qualification, and confidence in navigating the commercial realities of growing.
- Experience with salads and herbs is highly desirable; but experience in growing ornamental plants is also considered.
- A clear communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-forward environment.
Why You Should Join:
- Lead from the front - guide a talented team, influence company direction, and make your mark in a growing business.
- Innovation meets impact - work with cutting-edge vertical farming tech that's reshaping how we feed the world.
- Room to grow - with the business scaling rapidly, there are real opportunities for long-term leadership and career progression.
If you're an experienced agronomist with the confidence to lead and the curiosity to innovate, we'd love to hear from you.
