Quality and Ripening Manager / Fresh Produce / Kent

We are working with a leading fresh produce supplier, who supplies into the retail market, and they are looking to appoint an experienced Quality and Ripening Manager to join the team.

​

The role

Work in conjunction with source to ensure loading programmes are set up and in line with sales programme

Compile weekly allocation of fruit for retailers

Ensure agreed ripening procedures are followed at all times to give the correct colour stage on fruit

Ripen fruit to give maximum yields for the business

Managing stock of raw material

Develop the ripening team into a multi-disciplined function working alongside QC and production teams

The candidate

Experience in the ripening of fruit for retailers

Experience in managing a team

Excellent communication skills at all levels

Flexible approach to work

Experience in implementing systems and procedures

Knowledge of retailers

Good understanding of quality standards
