The Ideal Candidate
- Educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline
- Either MRTPI or MRICS (Planning & Development) accredited.
- A minimum of two years planning experience, either in the public or private sector.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy.
- Commercially astute, lateral thinker and capable of generating new business.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to assimilate and convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in an organised and methodical fashion, with high levels of attention to detail.
- Ability to accept responsibility and work on your own initiative.
- Numerate and IT Literate.
- A full UK driving license is essential.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for you, as an experienced Planning Consultant, to join a dedicated and forward-thinking regional rurally focused consultancy firm.
The role will encompass both rural and urban instructions, meaning variety is a given! Your workload will include:
- Rural Business diversification - commercial development, leisure, tourism and farm shops.
- Agriculture - new agricultural and equestrian developments, farm buildings, stables, farm roads.
- Residential - new build residential schemes: Class Q and Class RD GPDO, barn conversions, certificates or lawfulness and enforcement.
- Listed building and conservation area projects.
There is an existing book of work to pick up as soon as you begin, though the ability to generate new business will be welcomed.
