Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the future of sustainable agriculture? Our client, a leader in the fresh produce industry, is looking for a Production Planner to optimise production and supply chain processes, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. In this role, you will work closely with the operations team to adjust schedules based on changing demands and unforeseen challenges, while managing the flow of materials and products. Collaborating with the Logistics Manager, you'll help ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries that enhance customer satisfaction and support a more sustainable future. Ready to make a difference?

The Role

As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing detailed production schedules in both weekly and daily planning systems, ensuring a smooth balance between supply and demand by monitoring and managing stock levels. You will input essential data into the SCADA system and raise production orders for seed cleaning, growing, and packing via the ERP system to meet customer demand. Additionally, you'll create warehouse picks, monitor raw material usage, and ensure accurate records are maintained.

You will also be tasked with maintaining the MRP spreadsheet, recording production activity timings in the ERP system, and scheduling orders for customer delivery. Your role will involve providing reports on planning and supply chain performance, coordinating between departments to align planning with overall business objectives, and continuously seeking ways to improve production processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency across the farm.

About you

  • Proven experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, or Logistics, ideally within a fast-paced, short-shelf-food production environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with a keen eye for interpreting data and making well-informed decisions.
  • Competence in using ERP systems or other planning tools to manage scheduling and supply chain operations.
  • A problem-solver who can swiftly address unexpected challenges or shifts in demand.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with teams across different functions.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in managing schedules, stock levels, and inventory.
