Looking to work for a leading fresh produce business dedicated to delivering high-quality products to their customers. With a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, they take pride in growing, harvesting, and processing fresh produce to the highest standards. They are currently seeking a Nursery Operative to join their dynamic team and support our operations on-site.

Job Summary:

As a Nursery Operative, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the nursery, working with machinery and equipment to process and handle fresh produce efficiently. You will play a key role in ensuring that production runs smoothly, maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in processing fresh produce.
  • Assist in planting, growing, and harvesting fresh produce.
  • Sort, grade, and pack fresh produce according to company specifications.
  • Monitor and report any issues with crops, machinery, or equipment to supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and production areas.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Carry out general maintenance and upkeep of the nursery facilities as required.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a nursery, farm, or fresh produce environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience operating machinery and equipment is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
  • A forklift license or experience with agricultural machinery would be beneficial.
