We have an exciting opportunity for a real foodie to join our team as an NPD Technologist. As a key member of our NPD team, you will lead the development of new and modified products for Brand and Own label customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee product development projects, ensuring adherence to established procedures, deadlines, and launch plans as defined by key stakeholders or customers.
  • Trial Coordination: Organise trials, shelf life assessments, samples, and industrial validations for all projects.
  • Cross-Department Liaison: Work with all factory departments to develop new products from feasibility to launch.
  • Brand Development: Manage new product development for the brand, following briefs from the marketing department.
  • Product Showcases: Organise showcases to introduce new food trends and ideas to the wider team.
  • Documentation: Provide relevant departments with information to create quality and technical documents for product launches.
  • Research and Communication: Research new ideas and trends, and communicate findings to Category, Marketing, Commercial, and NPD colleagues.
  • Post-Launch Monitoring: Monitor products after launch, following the post-launch review procedure.
  • Reporting: Report on project progress to the Head of NPD.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Education: Ideally educated to degree level in Food Science/Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience within an NPD department, specifically with chilled/short shelf life products, shelf life analysis, product sampling, factory trials, and product costings.
  • Project Leadership: Proven experience in leading new product development projects from concept to launch.
  • Skills: Strong IT and communication skills.
