Role Overview
They are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations at our facility in Eye. The role is Mondy to Friday (8am-4pm).
This role is essential in ensuring that the site, and machinery operate at maximum efficiency. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of engineering professionals to deliver both reactive and proactive maintenance, improve operational performance, and drive key projects. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on safety and compliance
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the site maintenance function to provide reactive and planned maintenance on all equipment and infrastructure.
- Develop and oversee maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks and minimise downtime.
- Manage and improve maintenance records and ensure accurate data entry into systems.
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and maintain high standards across the facility.
- Supervise and develop the maintenance team, providing training and leadership.
- Manage contractor relationships and ensure work complies with legal and company requirements.
- Contribute to budget preparation, cost control, and capital expenditure proposals.
- Plan and execute projects, including new machinery installation and disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Update CAD site plans and design drawings for projects.
- Identify and implement business improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop and engineering areas.
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager as required, ensuring effective team coverage during holidays or absences.
Requirements
- Fully qualified in Maintenance or Service Engineering with a nationally recognized qualification.
- Significant experience in plant-level maintenance with proven leadership in a similar environment.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements for safety and operational compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other engineering-related software.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, manage contractors, and drive operational improvements.
- Previous experience in food production or a related industry is highly desirable.
