This well-established soft fruit grower is looking for an Irrigation Manager to join the team. With a solid supply chain and a great reputation, they want you to help bring the business forward.
What's the Job?
This will see you responsible for the irrigation across their 70Ha site.
You'll lead the irrigation team, currently consisting of up to 12 irrigators, technician and support staff, training, and motivating them to be the best they can be.
Irrigation infrastructure will fall into your remit. You'll be overseeing this, maintaining it and being proactive when it comes to any potential challenges.
You'll make sure the team have got all key records up to date when it comes to water use, fertiliser and EC levels.
As well as this, you'll be working closely with the wider team to support the planning and development of new crops, growing spaces and other opportunities.
What do I need?
You'll already have experience working in substrate cropping of soft fruit and understand the ins and outs of all thing's irrigation. You'll have a good knowledge of Priva or similar irrigation rigs as well as irrigation system design and hydraulics.
You will have experience in managing crop development and steering plants throughout the cropping cycles. Managing crop development and fruit quality will be key.
You'll be a confident communicator, being able to manage a team and happy to represent the company at industry events.
