Head Grower
Cheshire
£DOE
The last guy in this role did it for over 30 years. This means the opportunity is very rare, and the business do well when it comes to looking after their staff.
On top of that, this business has a very clear succession plan for this person, meaning you could get a promotion quicker than somewhere else.
This business has been going for a long time, so you'll be joining and established team and a successful operation.
When you join, you'll be working closely with the production director to manage a busy, high tech glasshouse operation. You'll get to learn from someone who could do the job with their eyes closed and then take more responsibility as time goes on.
You'll be managing a small team of 6 throughout the year, but as you know this will go up during the peak period.
Coming into this position will mean you have responsibility for crop production, including the irrigation, P&D management and record keeping. You'll get to be involved in the wider business, including product sourcing, and representing the business.
To do this role, you'll already have experience in a commercial nursery, but we're open on what crops you've done before, as long as you're happy to learn.
You'll have your PA1 and PA6 already, as well as the drive to further your career.
