What Will I Be Doing?
As General Manager you will be responsible for expanding the company's position in the UK and Ireland. You will lead the UK team to achieve business and financial goals, contributing to the success of our client. This role involves close collaboration with the European Commercial Director, local UK and BU managers. The General Manager will create a multi-year vision and plan for sustainable commercial growth, manage a team from various fields, develop a high-performing team, encourage cooperation, and foster a positive, goal-oriented culture.
What Will Package Look Like?
- Competitive salary - depending on experience

What Will My Responsibilities Be?
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and market expansion in the UK and Ireland.
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Streamline commercial processes and enhance operational efficiency to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Foster and manage strategic partnerships with sister companies and key stakeholders to support business development.
- Lead the creation and execution of promotional strategies, including the development of marketing materials and campaigns.
- Address and resolve product complaints and claims, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, embracing innovation and managing change effectively.
- Promote a positive work environment, Inspire and guide the team by setting clear goals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. promoting continuous learning and development through training programs, feedback, and empowerment.
What Do I Need?
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Higher educational level in Agriculture and/or Business Administration/ Finance / etc.
- Good understanding of the vegetable seed industry or the professional agricultural environment.
- At least 5 years' experience managing a team in a technical/commercial environment within agriculture or related industries.
- Hands-on personality, independent and pro-active.
- Customer proximity and relationships are critical to this role and are based on trust and can often be long-term.
- Ability to act as an ambassador for the UK business and internal and external audiences.
- Fluent in English, with additional languages such as Dutch and French an advantage.
- Willing to travel frequently locally and on occasion outside the UK.
