Farm Operations Manager | County Meath | £DOE

We are seeking a highly motivated Farm Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a dynamic and fast-paced farming operation, specialising in wholehead lettuce and baby leaf crops. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role, managing people, operations, and farm activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with the highest industry standards.

The Role

As Farm Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and managing farm activities, including crop production, land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertiliser programmes, harvesting, and weed control.
  • Leading a team of 25+ harvest staff, ensuring effective rostering, holiday planning, and staff management.
  • Monitoring financial, operational, and technical performance, working towards key business targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, suppliers, and senior management.
  • Managing crop traceability and ensuring best practices are followed across all farming operations.

You will be working alongside a highly experienced grower who leads on the technical side, making this a great opportunity for someone with strong operational management skills who is eager to develop their expertise further.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in farm operations, including people management, irrigation scheduling, and harvest logistics.
  • Knowledge of wholehead lettuce and baby leaf crops or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in machinery operation, land preparation, and crop establishment.
  • A solid understanding of budgeting, planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety, food safety, and compliance regulations.
  • IT literacy and experience using farm management software.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, successful farm business in a key leadership role. With the support of an experienced grower, you will have the chance to further develop your skills while driving operational excellence.

If you are a proactive, hands-on farm professional looking for your next challenge, we would love to hear from you.
