CEO for The Springfields Horticultural Society (3 days per week)

Following the retirement of the current CEO after 25 excellent years of service, MorePeople is delighted to be working with The Springfields Horticultural Society to help find a new leader for the organisation

The Springfields Horticultural Society is based in Spalding right next to the well-known Springfields Outlet Shopping Village and owns, manages, and maintains Springfields Festival Gardens as a free-to-enter visitor attraction and horticultural education facility. In addition, it operates Springfields Events & Conference Centre as a commercial arm to support the running costs of the Society and also works very closely with its partner organisation, Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure, to ensure that Springfields continues to be one of the most successful visitor destinations in the East of England. Last but not least, the Society is committed to promoting the study and practice of horticulture and in particular the cultivation of all varieties of flowers grown from bulbs and corms.

The CEO is responsible for the Society's staff of 19 team members (Full or part time) and the total day to day running of the organisation as well as for implementing the short, medium and long term strategies of the charity and is responsible to the Board of Trustees for ensuring the charitable aims and objectives of the Society are delivered and that the organisation continues to grow revenue and remains relevant and important to the area and to horticulture.

We have been retained, exclusively, to help find a natural leader and outstanding commercial professional to continue the excellent work of the retiring CEO

The ideal candidate will…..

  • Be based locally and available to work as the CEO 3 days of the week, but obviously available to the team as and when.
  • Possess excellent business acumen and be an outstanding commercial professional with experience of growing a business and of developing revenue streams.
  • Have, ideally, experience of the horticulture sector or empathy with farming and growing ….some knowledge of the events or charity sectors would be great BUT a real interest in the aims of the society and a desire to help it grow and flourish in the future are absolutely critical
  • Have excellent general management capability and be down to earth with a real 'can-do' attitude and great communication skills
  • Have good attention to detail and be a great team leader and man manager
  • Have good financial awareness and be business savvy

For more information or to apply please contact Guy Moreton, Chairman of MorePeople, on 01780480530 or guy@morepeople.co.uk

MorePeople have been retained exclusively to manage the whole recruitment project and any third party or direct applications to the society or trustees will be forwarded to Guy.
