Our client is a leading supplier of branded and own-label products into the retailer and food service sector

The role

The Assistant Technical Manager will be responsible for assisting the Technical Manager in maintaining and improving food safety, quality, hygiene and GMP systems to ensure continued Third party, customer, and external accreditation.

You will lead and manage the Hygiene Team and provide appropriate instruction, information, training, and verification processes to ensure the site is maintained to the best possible hygiene standards.

The candidate

You will act as a first point of contact for any technical issues on site and comply with all site procedures to ensure the safe operation of any activities within scope of your responsibility. You will also provide adequate cover to the Technical Manager through training & skill set to meet operational and customer demands.

Supporting the site team in both internal and external audits, demonstrating site compliance and resolution of non-compliance and supporting the QA Team Leader when required.

The successful candidate must have previous technical experience (within the FCMG sector is desirable), degree or equivalent in Food Science or a related subject, awareness of BRC and audit processes and be an experienced Internal Auditor. Level 3 Intermediate Food Safety is desirable

This role is for 3 days per week.
