At the National Plant Show, I’ll be doing a talk on Thursday afternoon about growing your team and how to retain them. I’m looking forward to sharing what I know, but if there’s anything, in particular, people want to know more about, let me know and I’ll make sure to add it. I may also be involved in a panel discussion at Four Oaks with the YPHA – watch this space for that!
I’m looking forward to seeing what’s new in the industry and catching up with my candidates, clients and friends. The YPHA is also hosting a get together for members at the National Plant Show on Wednesday evening! It’s been a couple of years since I attended Cereals, so I’m looking forward to spending a day in the fields and listening to our Executive Chairman Guy who has a speaking space and will be holding a couple of panel sessions with guests about getting young people into agriculture.
Trade shows are a highlight in the calendar for me, they allow me to appreciate the industry we work in. Having had a couple of new members join the team, trade shows are a great way to show them how vast and exciting the industry is. Getting to meet my candidates and clients face to face is also a major perk, I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to build strong relationships with the people I work with. Understanding a company's culture, the way they work and getting to see them showcase their products at trade shows makes such a positive difference.
I’m not looking forward to the achy feet after two days of standing, though!
