The Worshipful Company of Fruiterers’ David Hohnen Prize and Student Prize are awarded to students for an outstanding level of dedication and achievement in the field of horticulture, and fruit in particular. The applications are assessed by leading academics and industry experts, so this is a highly regarded accolade which will add weight to your CV.
What’s the prize?
There are two prizes, the David Hohnen Prize winner will receive a £2,500 cheque and the Student Prize winner a £1,500 cheque!
The winners will be invited to attend a major fruit industry event, Fruit Focus at NIAB East Malling usually held in july, which is the perfect opportunity for networking with industry leaders.
Who can apply, and how?
Any current undergraduates, recent graduates, Masters and PhD students can apply, using the application form found below, and emailed to fruitererawards@gmail.com by the application deadline of 17.00 on Monday 19th February 2024.

Today over half of our membership is actively engaged in the fruit industry, while the other half is drawn from a wide range of professions and occupations operating in the City and wider community.
